“Grey Lady”: Perfect for those Grey, “Hot Cocoa & a Blankie” kinda Afternoons If ever there was an example of a passable mystery/thriller, “Grey Lady” fills the bill perfectly. It is not a great movie. But it ain’t half horrible, either. Starring a gaggle of primarily TV actors cumulatively testing the cinematic waters, the performances are mostly more than adequate. Eric Dane (“Grey’s Anatomy”) plays it strong silent type à la Clint Eastwood-Gary Cooper as James Boyle, an ex-Boston homicide cop on the trail of the evil incarnate responsible for killing those close to him yet inexplicably individuals merely on the periphery of his life, as well. Dane’s work is not explosive by any means, but he achieves what he’s functionally called upon to do just fine in projecting a truly troubled character. One of the most welcome changes in Tamil cinema has been the increase in the number of films based on Kathaynayake. Last year, Sai Dhanasika played a central role in 'Kabali' with his acting and bold role. Let us see in the review how this movie is being directed by debut director Sani. Tulsi (Sai Dushika) residing in Malaysia, mother of twin babies. Her husband Satya is missing. Unable to return to the homeland without a husband, her daughters Tara (Versa) and Mira (Varnika) are forced to defend themselves in Malaysia alone. Suddenly, Tara dies with a rare disease. Meera has the same disease. The rest of the story is what Tulsi is doing to save Mira, the only catch of her life. In such a film the mother-daughter (s) can be a fan of the movie with the image only if the affection is recorded. The director's style makes it right. The characters and their atmosphere and their love and relationship within them are recorded and beautifully in the opening scenes....
